How long should you wait after a miscarriage to get pregnant again?

Authors of a recent study have surprisingly shown that the best chance of avoiding another early pregnancy loss is to become pregnant within six months of a miscarriage.

The miscarriage rate was only 7% vs 22% for women who conceived 6 to 18 months after the last pregnancy loss. It appears that there might be some benefit to attempting conception within six months while the reproductive system is “primed” for pregnancy.

In contrast, the results from several studies, including this one, strongly suggest that waiting more than 60 months (5 years) has passed significantly increases the likelihood of adverse outcomes for the baby in that pregnancy.
