Donor Sperm

Why choose Fertility First for your donor sperm?

Fertility First has had a consistent, abundant supply or donor sperm immediately available for the past 15 years, leading to us being a top choice for donor sperm in Sydney.

On average Fertility First has 90 – 100 different donors available at any one time, from a variety of different cultural backgrounds.

The way our donor sperm program is managed allows for patients to purchase sperm only as they need it, for example, only purchasing sperm for the current cycle.  This reduces the need to outlay the cost of a number of straws at the beginning of treatment that are unlikely to be required. Once a pregnancy has been confirmed, more sperm may be dedicated to the patient for future pregnancy. This process ensures your expense is minimised without compromising the chance of conceiving.

Fertility First’s success rates, quality care and consistent supply of donor sperm make us a top choice for donor sperm treatment in Sydney.

1 in 6 couples have difficulty falling pregnant. Our vision is to transform what we know about our biology and reshape the conversation around infertility.

Our Donor Sperm Process

Initial Selection and Consent Forms

During a patients first appointment, we run through all initial fertility tests and questions to help determine the best approach. From here, a treatment plan is determined.

Donor Sperm Allocation Confirmation

Once a treatment plan has been confirmed, Fertility First provides patients with consent forms and the current donor sperm list. Patients are required to select at least three sperm donors from the list.

Preparation of Donor Sperm

Once the donor sperm is confirmed, our fertility clinic proceeds with the preparation of the chosen donor sperm. This involves the handling and processing required to ensure the sperm is ready for use in the respective treatment cycle.

Undertake Procedure

After preparation, the donor sperm becomes available for the patient’s treatment. Our patients can then proceed with their scheduled sperm donor insemination procedure using the allocated donor sperm.

FAQ's about Donor Sperm in Australia

Donor sperm is a fertility treatment option for individuals or couples who cannot conceive naturally due to male infertility or other factors. It involves the use of sperm donated by a healthy male donor.

At Fertility First in Sydney, we offer a comprehensive donor sperm program that provides access to high-quality donor sperm. Our donors undergo rigorous screening and testing to ensure their suitability and the safety of the process.

Donor sperm can be used in conjunction with fertility treatments such as:

  • Intrauterine Insemination (IUI): This involves introducing the donor sperm directly into the uterus at the time of ovulation.
  • In Vitro Fertilization (IVF): This involves fertilizing eggs with donor sperm in a laboratory and then transferring the resulting embryos into the uterus.

Donor Sperm is a treatment in which donor sperm is collected and inseminated into a woman’s uterus. Donor Sperm treatment is suitable for couples where the partner has little to no available sperm in the reproductive tract, meaning pregnancy would only be possible through IVF treatment. Donor sperm is also suitable if the man carries a genetic disease he does not wish to risk passing on to his children. Although the woman must have normal fallopian tubes, single women and women in same-sex relationships may also consider the IUDI process.

We understand that using donor sperm can raise unique emotional and psychological questions. At Fertility First, we offer a range of support services, including access to local support groups specifically for individuals conceived through donor sperm. These groups provide a safe and supportive environment where you can connect with others who have similar experiences.

Yes, at Fertility First, you generally have the ability to choose certain characteristics of your sperm donor based on the available options.
