Can I exercise while going through IVF?

It is important to practice good health and physical fitness when trying to conceive and studies have shown that maintaining a healthy BMI is beneficial to your fertility treatment.

Exercise habits should be kept as low impact and avoid any type of high intensity exercise that could potentially lead to over-exertion. Some risks associated with strenuous exercise in IVF patients include resulting in a hormone imbalance due to the level of activity and even the risk of ovarian torsion, which can be extremely painful and dangerous.

Current research suggests that when undergoing fertility treatment, it’s important to consult your fertility specialist to determine the level of physical activity you are looking at pursuing.
