Does an embryo transfer hurt?

Embryo transfers shouldn’t typically hurt, but a doctor is always there to help ensure the process goes by as smoothly as possible.

An embryo transfer is very similar to having a pap test or an IUI procedure performed, and usually takes anywhere between 5 to 10 minutes.

Embryo transfers should be a relatively easy procedure with no reason for anaesthetic or recovery time needed, however everyone is different, and some women may experience more discomfort than others.
