We have had a consistent, abundant supply of donor sperm immediately available for the past 15 years, resulting in us becoming one of the leading providers of donor sperm in Sydney. We offer this service to all patients who need donor sperm to achieve their dream of growing their family, whether single mums by choice, same-sex female and other LGBTQIA+ couples, or couples affected by male infertility.
On average, we have 80–100 different sperm donors available at any one time from a variety of different cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. This means you can bypass the waitlist and focus on building your family.
We manage our donor sperm program in such a way as to minimise unnecessary expenses for you without compromising on the likelihood of a successful outcome. Once your pregnancy from this treatment cycle has been confirmed, more sperm from the same donor may be dedicated to your future pregnancies if you choose.
Xytex is an international cryoservices provider and sperm bank located in the USA. They have been providing high-quality donor sperm to couples and solo mothers around the world since 1975, and a trusted sperm bank partner of Fertility First for more than a decade.
Our collaboration with Xytex and their extensive list of available sperm donors at any given time means you have immediate access to a diverse range of donor sperm.

To ensure donor sperm is the right treatment option for your situation, our fertility specialists perform a thorough assessment of your fertility and also that of your male partner (if you're considering treatment as a couple). Through this testing process, we can make sure we have confirmed that donor sperm is the best way forward. Fertility testing for the female partner is important to ensure there are no factors that may interfere with your ability to safely carry the pregnancy started through donor sperm. Implications counselling must be completed prior to commencing treatment using donor sperm.
Once you have signed the relevant consent forms, we provide you with the de-identified profiles of our extensive current donor sperm list. You will be able to read through the various details of each donor, including his personal preferences, lifestyle choices, education history, and physical characteristics. Out of this list, you will choose at least three sperm donors.
Once we have confirmed your chosen sperm donor, our fertility clinic will process the sperm sample to ensure it's ready to be used for your treatment cycle.
Fertilising your eggs with donor sperm can be done either one of two ways - through in vitro fertilisation (IVF) or donor insemination. IVF requires a process of ovarian stimulation and egg retrieval so that we can combine your eggs and donor sperm in a laboratory. The fertilised egg develops in our specialised culture medium, before we transfer it to your womb to continue growing. Donor insemination is the same procedure as intrauterine insemination (IUI), which allows the donor sperm to fertilise your egg within a natural environment by injecting the donor sperm into your body. The sperm then swims on its own to find and penetrate the egg. A few factors relating to your own reproductive health will guide our recommendation on whether to proceed with IVF or donor insemination.

Donor sperm treatment is suitable for couples where the male partner has significant infertility concerns, such as very low sperm concentration, motility (movement), or morphology (shape and size), or if there is a concern that a genetic defect may be passed on through his sperm. It is also becoming an increasingly popular fertility treatment option for single mothers by choice and same-sex female couples.
As the intention of using donor sperm is to fertilise your own eggs, women with infertility factors of their own, such as blocked fallopian tubes or low ovarian reserve, may not be suitable for using donor sperm.
